If you can have your body fully functioning, WHY would you choose not to? Cochlear implant was a running theme on ER a few seasons ago. I'm glad that the deaf culture is so vibrant. I'm sure that has been a blessing for so many and that they are very grateful and appreciative of it. It must be very hard to come to the end of an era and be the last of your kind. It's natural to want to hold on.
