it may be SSB was making a strategic move with the Grubman payout.

by ensuring he has his own deep pockets - and making sure the public knows about it - they may be offering him up as civil lawsuit bait. with the transaction being done in such a public manner, there is little chance the money will disappear into an untraceable swiss rathole.

just speculation for an idle sunday morning...
