I have been to San Francisco a couple of times, for long weekends tied into St. John's alumni events. One St. John's alumnus has a winery in the Napa Valley, and has won medals in wine competitions. His vineyard is called Stag's Leap. Once we went out there for a picnic, tour of the winery, and seminars. The landscape in the area is very different from most of the East Coast, which would easily return to primeval forest if unattended, and where even farmland seems wrested from woods......
