Yes, I'm sure Intel is working hard at this minute with the "independent" in-house BAPCO operation to rig up some benchmark or other to "prove" that HYPERTHREADING actually improves things. And I'm sure the chosen benchmark will be as representative of real world usage as past BAPCO efforts. As an aside, official Intel terminology of the hyperthreading / netburst / Itanium school is only moderately less irritating than Engelese. Methinks the guys need a new neologician.
