cheese terrine with roast lamb sandwich and a fruity white. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......Right near our new development is an Italian restaurant called the Geppetto Cafe (with a lot of marionettes in a case, as decoration), with the best lasagna I have had in a long time, and scrumptious appetizers, such as mussels in a wine and garlic sauce that is extremely savory. On the other hand, the nearest French restaurant is very "nouvelle" oriented, and has too much grilled stuff for my taste (the duck with raspberry sauce was very good, though). There is, though, a franchise place called La Madeleine not far from us with moderately priced traditional dishes, like quiche or croque monsieurs for lunch, in a cafeteria serving line, but a provincial French ambiance. There is another pricey French place nearby that we tried on my birthday, very nice, but I still regretted that the menu was so limited. Sometimes I just want some bouillabaise or cassoulet, you know, robust provincial food. There are a couple of more locally to try, and a couple in the Metro area we are already acquainted with, in case the locals don't pan out. We are also pretty near my favorite Jewish deli, and a couple of outstanding Lebanese places, as well as a Greek restaurant that understands that souvlaki is supposed to be made with lamb. Of course, in an area like this, restaurant hopping could become a religion, with all the places not yet explored......
