I like that quote, too.

Speaking of hate and odd, I happened to see a bit of CSPAN this morning that chilled me. They were interviewing a professor of African studies regarding the situation with the white farmers in Zimbabwe. When I'm watching those shows, I usually switch them off when they go to the phones. I wish I had this morning. I felt sorry for the professor trying to respond to the comments. He ignored the hatefulness of them and made straight comments on whatever straight point he could find in what the callers said. Basically, they were saying that the farmers deserved what they were getting and more. One woman said that whites should not be allowed to live or work anywhere in Africa. CSPAN always announces whether the calls are coming in on the Dem or Rep or independent line. These were all on the Dem line. I turned it off after a few calls because I just couldn't stand to listen to it any more. Perhaps after a while there was some variation in the tone of the calls, but I didn't stick around to find out. It was awful.
