I'm not so certain, R. There is, clearly, a concerted effort by a rather large group of Republicans to slow down the Iraqi attack train. It will be very interesting to watch how it plays out.

The most telling opposition comes from Scowcroft. That it came from that source and that it was that public. That clearly means that Bush 2 will have to straddle all this somehow.

My chief worry is that, given the way in which this administration has politicized everything, they will attack in a way to maximize their advantages in the fall political campaigns. Let's just hope not.
