(At the very least, even the Libertarians will agree that this will have the bonus effect of making our industry more cost effective by decreasing the efficiency of theirs.) Hi Carl - safety precautions pay off because there are fewer disasters and loss of lives. Saving lives in times of disaster is a good thing for governments to do. Everybody pitches in during disasters, why not governments?
