People would like us better if we even talked about the things you are proposing instead of the dialogue we have
going now.

FWIW, just got back from visiting my mother in the hospital. She's been out of it for weeks but is coming around. No TV, no newpaper. Today she wanted to know what's been going on the world.

One of the things I told her was that I thought we were in the process of gearing up to attack Iraq, and I thought we might be aiming for September-October.

She asked, "pre-emptive strike?" I said yes, but there were a lot of people who were opposed to that. She said, "so we should just sit back and wait for more people to be killed?," and shook her head.

She's very liberal, more like FL than JohnM. So that's one more vote for pre-emption.
