I’m still waiting for those apologies from many posters – as well as from many major publications – for that wild great world - wide anti-Israeli and Judophobic hysteria on the subject of the great Jenin ‘nossacre’

To give credit where credit is due, Phil Reeves of the Independent did apologize recently. Dead silence from all the others, though, except the few scumbags like Peter Cave of ABC Australia who still insist there must have been a massacre in there, somewhere.

The Economist (who was more restrained than most originally, but still inclined to believe the massacre story) reported the UN report of 'no massacre', and admitted that Israel had got a bum rap, but scolded Israel anyway. It's losing its decency in the face of terrorism, apparently. Personally, I don't recall the Brits reacting with sweetness and light when the IRA blew up Lord Montbatten, and the very techniques that the Economist now condemns, like house demolitions, were pioneered in Palestine by the Brits. But all this is conveniently forgotten.

BTW, what did you think about our today’s extensive analysis of Arafat’s relative assets, and his investment acumen? -bg

I hadn't heard about Dutch real estate before -g- But it's hardly news; I was just surprized at Israeli intelligence using so conservative a figure as $1.3 billion. Last year the Jerusalem Post estimated Arafat's personal fortune as close to $20 billion.
