I have not so far noticed a Peruvian chicken shack, but I shall keep an eye out. There is a Hamburger Hamlet very close to my house, one I went to when my father was a few miles down the road, as a teen. Hamburger Hamlet is the grandaddy of the highly decorated, sitdown, sirloin burger places. It started in Beverly Hills, and opened its next restaurant in Friendship Heights, on the cusp of Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and northwest Washington. Not too long thereafter, Saks Fifth Avenue and Nieman-Marcus (from Texas) opened stores in that area. Up the road from me is a Bloomingdales, where we had to go to find sheets that fit our new bed. (I was in the New York Bloomingdales once, and insisted upon finding the coffee shop and being let off the hook for browsing). On the other hand, there is a Sears pretty close by, thank God, and a Subway.......
