This attitude is, of course, one of the most troubling things about the situation right now, that viable talk of a two state solution is viewed by a large bloc of Israelis as a "surrender." No, John, no, no, no. Go read the Israeli papers, the Israeli blogs. The same Israelis who won't surrender support a viable two-state solution. They just have lost the stupid illusions of the Left that surrender to a violent mob of terrorists will do anything to help bring a two state solution into existence. As Tom Friedman says, there's only one bumper sticker that explains the Palestinians' policies for the past two years, and that bumper sticker reads "Death to Israel".
