If they were found on investigation to have been guilty of crimes or complicity in crimes, or were potential material witnesses, I assume they wouldn't be put on a plane. I just called American Airlines to talk about flights to CA around Christmas using frequent flier miles and was told it was "late" to be making reservations so I might not be able to get the flights I want, ie I might have to leave at 6 am (meaning get to the airport at 4:30 am), etc. That's because they set aside so few seats for award travel. It's four months early. Sheesh.
