Look's like it was an Oracle implementation. They previously used SAP but had problems and switched to Oracle. This was posted on the Oracle thread.

Interesting glitches over at Agilent:
biz.yahoo.com

"During the quarter, Agilent `went live' with our new company-wide ERP system, which covers over 50 percent of Agilent's volume and virtually all of our financial processes," said Agilent President and Chief Executive Officer Ned Barnholt. "The disruptions associated with that new system have been more extensive than we expected.

To their credit, they didn't blame the software (which is Oracle) or even mention it by name, as the issues were almost certainly implementation and process related. We failed at an attempt to put in SAP over there back in '96-'97 when it was still the HP Test and Measurement Organization, probably for similar reasons. Once they got spun off by HP they re-evaluated from a clean slate and chose Oracle instead

Sounds like the disruption was temporary and everything is now working fine. But still an important reminder to anybody who thinks that installing a complex large software package into a complex large organization is ever easy or risk-free.

What's the downside Buy target? I think $9.00 is a bit low considering the asset value of the company but $12-$15 might be a target price IMO if the market sells off at current levels.
