IDT Expands Executive Leadership in Sales and Design Centers

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 19, 2002--IDT (Integrated Device Technology, Inc.; Nasdaq: IDTI), a leading communications IC company, today strengthened its sales and design efforts with the announcement of a new executive and two internal executive promotions. IDT hired Ravi Agarwal as the vice president of Japan and APAC sales, and promoted Goran Andersson to vice president of North American sales and Paul Platt to vice president of design engineering.

IDT Adds Two Sales Vice Presidents

During the past year, the Asia Pacific and Japan regions have grown in importance to IDT's overall business strategy. Customer manufacturing and design activity is shifting from Japan to China and Taiwan, driving the need for improved customer and sales force communication between these regions. Additionally, North American contract equipment manufacturers (CEMs) are also transitioning business to APAC, and customer design decisions are increasingly being made in Asia. Agarwal, vice president of Japan and APAC sales, was brought on to address these design and purchasing changes, and drive IDT's sales strategy for Japan and APAC. By overseeing both regions, he will work to improve communication and can better manage the current customer transitions while continuing to grow IDT's business in these geographies. Agarwal manages 49 sales employees and reports directly to Vice President of Worldwide Sales Bill Franciscovich. Agarwal, 46, resides in Singapore. He joins IDT from Intel, where he spent the past 21 years in various marketing, business development, product line management and business management roles. He was instrumental in developing the China market strategy for Intel and building Intel's business in the APAC region. Agarwal earned a master's degree in solid-state physics from Oregon State University, and an executive management program certificate from Harvard Business School.

In addition to hiring Agarwal, IDT also expanded its executive sales team by promoting Andersson to vice president of North American sales. In this role, Andersson oversees a team of approximately 80 sales personnel and is responsible for managing all aspects of sales in North America. His key goal is to continue to challenge and motivate the sales team to consistently improve customer relationships and increase revenue. Andersson, 43, also reports to Franciscovich and works closely with Agarwal and Vice President of European Sales Bill Cowing. Andersson has spent ten years at IDT in various sales roles, including regional sales manager for Nordic sales, areas sales manager for Northern Europe, and most recently director of North American sales. He received his electronics education in Sweden.

"The Asia Pacific and North American territories are the largest areas of revenue and growth for IDT, and it is imperative that we effectively manage and build customer relationships in these regions," said Bill Franciscovich, IDT's vice president of worldwide sales. "I feel we have very strong leadership and experience with Ravi and Goran directing these sales territories."

Platt Promoted to Vice President of Design Services

In his new role as vice president of design services, Platt manages IDT's Dallas, Atlanta and Sydney, Australia design centers, a design automation group in Santa Clara, Calif. and a computer-aided design group in Atlanta. By managing three of IDT's five remote design centers, including approximately 100 employees, Platt will work to improve the information exchange and interaction between the groups in an effort to maximize the flexibility of the Company's design resources. Through sharing and developing standardized design tools, libraries and technologies, Platt hopes to create a more unified corporate design flow. Additionally, Platt is responsible for extending IDT's design capabilities as the Company continues to develop more complex communications IC products. Platt, 49, reports to President Greg Lang. Platt has been with IDT for eight years and is responsible for establishing IDT's Atlanta design center. Prior to IDT, he held a design management role at Cypress Semiconductor and an engineering position at Mostek Corporation. Platt received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Mobile, a master's degree in physics from Louisiana State University, and a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Southern Mississippi.

"Paul helped build IDT's Atlanta design center from the ground up and has been instrumental in developing advanced design capabilities to meet our communications customers' needs," said Greg Lang, IDT's president. "With his leadership and IDT's strong resources in the design centers, IDT plans to continue to build high-quality, industry-leading technology solutions."
