jtech ew: Russia/Iraq economic alliance...

Interesting subject... to say the least ~

The scary thought is Putin vs. Bush is a psycho-emotional & intellectual mis-match of epic proportions.

One is a silver-spooned, spoiled frat-boy; who was pushed to politcal power, nearly by default by the old-money political elite of Washington.

The other is a product of the Russian Cold-War Military-Political Machine who had the intellect and the cunning to claw, fight and climb his way to the top of the KGB.

One is a near dim-witted lamb with the naiveity to match, the other is a battle proven wolf who didn't get to where he is today, by being unwilling to con, or to eat a few sheep along the way...

Either Putin has played us for complete fools; or this is a brilliant coup, putting the Russians and their intelligence apparatus inside Iraq; hopefully at our behest.

Now, whether we can trust the Russians and their intelligence is another question... but, it certainly is better than having China, or the Koreans in the same alliance.

...only time will tell.

Bottomline:

....commonsense and fundamental military strategy demand that we take out Saddam now, PREMPTIVELY - before he comes into possession of nuclear weapons, or upgrades, or complete's nuclear, or biologic programs already under way.

Only a "yes" answer to these two questions is morally required to act pre-emptively imho.

1. Is Iraq now in possesion of, or is Iraq in the process of building nuclear weapons, or biologic weapons of mass destruction; or merely; have they, or are they trying to acquire the technology for building an arsenal of nuclear, or biologic weapons of mass destruction?

2.Is there probable cause to believe that Saddam would use on a first-strike basis, such weapons; should he come into the possession of them ?

...obviously given what we already know from the UN inspectors, our own military intelligence and Saddams own past history of using biologics on his own people... the answer to all of the above is a resounding - YES !

It is not only our perogative to pre-emptively take Saddam out of power; it imho, is our moral responsibility to the free world to do so.

Yes; it is playing God and Policeman of the world; but technologically and politically we have reached a time and a place, that for the good of humanity and the free world; someone has to do it... and that someone is us ~

We MUST take out Saddam and perhaps only a poltical escalation taking us to the brink of WW III would be cause for pause ...and imho; I don't see Russia taking that stance.

Taking out Saddam "after" the fact... in reacting to a 2nd 9/11-esque domestic nuclear, or bio-terrorism incident would be political suicide for the Republicans ...look at the second guessing of the Bush Administration on mere vague FBI intelligence reports alluding to possible air-related attacks.

Should we risk 500,000 to 1 Million New Yorkers vs. the 3,000 we lost on Sept 11th - when (not if) he finally acquires advanced nuclear, or biologic capabilities ?

Bush and his Administration(or any other for that matter) would be crucified by history for allowing this to happen... neither Bush, nor any other President...be they Republican, or Democrat can allow this to happen.

The 21st Century version of Hitler is rising...evil of this degree, in whatever reincarnation, in whatever time and place must never again be allowed to rise to full fruition.

Saddam is history and can kiss his ass goodbye...

WHEN, NOT IF ~

- so it is written; so it shall be done.

This is and will be GW's legacy...and just maybe, it is a firmly committed righteous moral authority and not a historically great intellect, that America and the Free World really need here and now...
