It will be interesting to see what happens at Applied with their 11i upgrade. Applied Materials tried to implement Sap in the mid-90s and failed. Later they went Oracle ERP (client/server) successfully- but of course you talk to anybody over there and its gripe-city. Now they are doing the 11i upgrade with an indian consulting house, total outsource. Probably infosys. Since they have had so many problems in the past I wonder how this will go. The strange thing is the management of these large shops almost always blames the vendor even though its obvious there are systemic problems with multiple vendors over time.
