Positional Trading using TA only it is verrrrrrry likely that sometimes there are incorrect assumptions drawn by various members of the Zthread pertaining to trading methods of OTHERS here --- first ===== a quickie synopsis of how I see these various posters ****(((this list is compiled from postings to the Z in the past four(4) days))) in order of appearance in that time frame .... Ron ==== uses all tools Triffin ==== don't know enough about trading style to comment Joe ===== highly aggressive Ed ==== FA as applies to his perspective BWAC ==== indepth FA, mostly relying on company figures/reports Larry ===== FA with personal experience adaptation Nemer ===== gunslinger hui zou ===== FA profit/growth based KT ===== trades like he uses the camera ... results matter Dan ==== very similar to Ed, but uses highly rudimentary TA Carl ===== don't know enough about trading style to comment these are generalized comments** and, I do not intend to denigrate anyone, and am drawing conclusions based on limited,possibly inaccurate, and perhaps even MY biased outlook ..... but, nonetheless .... I do have a "picture" of each of the posters "in MY head" ....right or wrong ... NOW ... and this is where I can illustrate the potential for inaccuracies ... when I came to the Z ........ buy and hold ONLY, and LONG term at that using FA and TA (but primitive TA) learned to flip short termers using TA moved to day trades moved to faster day trades became a polished gunslinger with TA ONLY making trades with long term holds of fifteen minutes see ... I've not been a fast momo guy for very long, but most posters "think that is what I am" .... now ... I've been working for the better portion of three years on a positional method .. using TA only here is an illustration of "what I do now" .... es02u long July 25 short July 31 long July 31 short Aug 1 long Aug 6 short Aug 7 long Aug 7 short Aug 13 long Aug 14 STILL long from the last position Aug 14 so, that is a few quickies of one day or less (stop induced) for little losses or breakeven a few of a week *(slightly more or less) I call this positional trading of an indeterminate length ==== the stops take me out WITH a nice profit (as a rule) or WITH a relatively small loss and let the winners run TIL the profit pie commences to dwindle ..... there are fewer than ten trades in about three weeks ..... largest loss ====== two points largest winner ===== seventy nine points don't know why I wrote this post, actually ... for it will seem like bragging, and that is not my intent .... guess I can sum it up as follows ===== I've changed tactics COMPLETELY in five years and am changing AGAIN .... all my methods have proved profitable BUT -- if I don't change I'll lose my edge AND my profit potential ..... I can highly suggest to all here that you consider changing from you old ways .... even tho they have served you well in the past ... change is the ONLY method to STAY successful ... the way I see it ... end of lecture/lesson/preaching/etc ... t
