Thanks. I have been travelling on and off all month, so I have been posting sporadically.

Iraq may have the fourth largest army in the world, but an army that is not motivated can be huge and still not be effective. I think the size of the army will just make it one of history's largest retreating forces. They remember what the technological superiority of the American forces can do to them. I also don't think that block by block street fighting is a strong likelihood. The real key problem here is not conquering these clowns. It is putting something in place that is worth the effort and is ready to install before we go in.

The one mistake I think we made in Afghanistan (and it may have been unavoidable) is teaming up with rapists and pillagers to retake Kabul and Kandahar. They may have been the only options, but in retrospect there was no particular hurry.... other than for PR reasons.
