Words fail me. Do you by any chance actually know (in the real world, not cyberspace) (in the sense of being a friend or a close acquaintance) anyone who owns their own business?

How about arguing this without the personal component. It wouldn't matter whether I did or did not for the validity of the argument. However, to answer your question. You bet. Very close. Very, very close.

As the saying goes, I actually know people who've met a payroll. Some people, god help them, think that makes me a better person. I, on the other hand, don't think it has any moral component to it all. And preciously little informational component.

And, again, as for people who voted for Reagan, Nixon, whatsoever on my faculty, it's not something we regularly do, go around with sandwich boards on, advertising political affiliations. But, just off the top of my head, I would guess somewhere around a fourth. Some whole departments. In the social sciences. Even. And I wasn't at a university known for its conservative faculty members.
