The danger is the a priori assumption that slavery is an American phenomenon for which living Americans are guilty -- this is non-sequitor argumentation. Taken from a myriad of examples -- imagine the Jews arguing, on the basis of generations of slavery in Egypt -- during Moses’ time -- that they should be given the Suez canal. An asinine thought, by extreme example, but no less ignorant than the black-militants demanding reparations from white Americans who were never involved in slave trade or ownership. We must get back to the flawed premise and reject the invalid assumptions designed to foment racial discontent and racial hatred. The sad thing is that both black & white Americans are swallowing that crap and not questioning it’s validity. This is not a good thing. The Japanese issue is for another day. Did you read "Rape of Nanking"? Ever wonder why the Japanese never paid reparations to China?
