My position on Iraq is similar to that of the well known conservative Republican supply sider Jude Wanniski. Namely that Iraq is not a threat to the US and has nothing to do with terrorism. Iraq is perhaps the most secular Arab country and a bitter opponent of Islamic fundamentalism. The number two man in Iraq --Tariq Aziz -- is a Christian.

US hostility to Iraq reflects the Bush regime's imperial ambitions to dominate the Middle East and control world oil supplies. It also reflects the influence of the powerful Israel lobby on Bush thinking, even though Bush got very few jewish votes.
