Comparing the pictures that were generated by a million man army in Vietnam for 10 years to the pictures generated by a few thousand in Afghanistan for 10 months is silly.


Cameramen were allowed to go into battle with the grunts in Vietname, Carl. The Pentagon has definitely changed its mind about the benefits of this practice. It keeps tight control on journalists. And again, unless we screw up very badly indeed, the campaign in Iraq will be much more like Afghanistan than Vietnam.
