I agree market segmenting can result in revenue gains but the segments must be large enough that the volume within them provides for cost-effective solutions. Which is related to the remainder of your post on Itanium. With AMD being by far the minority player (volume wise) how many segments should they seek for the platform? Perhaps the infrastructure cost issues aren't that great? But validation would seem to be essential for many of the implied segments (workstation and up). -PT
