So, have you started school yet?

P went in for the first time today to start setting her room up. They had to clean the rooms out totally last June, since the school was tearing out the old carpet and installing new carpet, and everything had to be taken off the shelves (but thankfully not the cupboards that could be sealed with tape) since they planned to have dust everywhere. And did, apparently. (They also found mold in several of the rooms. Made me think of Edwarda. Fortunately, there wasn't any mold in P's room. Most of it was in the room of a teacher who believes in minimal control, letting the kids do what they want to, which included watering the plants he had on the windowsills so carelessly that the wall, apparently, has been solidly wet behind the wall coating for several years.)

Anyhow, they bought several hundred 3 foot by 3 foot by 3 foot boxes for teachers to store their stuff in to move into the gym. Think a moment about a 3 foot by 3 foot by 3 foot box filled with books, paper, school supplies . . . So of course they issued a rule that the teachers couldn't fill them any fuller than two layers of books, which left lots of boxes mostly empty, so when they stacked them . . . Not to mention the waste of boxes.

Why do some people have no common sense at all?
