Trigem to Export US$4 Bln. Worth of PCs to HP

August 20, 2002 (SEOUL) -- Trigem Computer Inc. signed a deal with Hewlett-Packard Co. valued at US$4 billion, the highest price ever that a Korean PC manufacturer has obtained abroad.

Trigem said it has agreed to provide PCs to the U.S. PC maker under an ODM method over the next three years. Annual shipments are expected to reach 2.4 million units.

The value of the deal accounts for a 60 percent of Trigem's overall sales of 2.6 trillion won in 2001. Trigem used to focus on low-priced PCs, but made a turnaround to shift to mid-priced products with the deal, market watchers said.
