Anecdotal- My wife and her contemporaries virtually live in the car. With 3 children her appointed rounds resemble the schedule of a CEO. She doesn't have hours to kill catching up on the latest agit-prop from the NYT while enjoying her latte at Starbuck's, so WiFi is no help.

On her own, and without any encouragement from me, she stumbled into the local PCS store (the same one thats so clueless) and she noticed the vision display. She got absolutely no help from the salespeople, but she was allowed to more or less play around with a demo A500 and went bananas with what all it could do. Applications that she thought were particularly useful to someone like her were the voice dialing, the ability to have with her at all times a constantly updateable electronic calender, the phone book, the web browser to get things like movie start times and traffic reports, and to a degree, I'm sure, the sheer novelty of it.

In a very short period of time she and a number of her friends are absolutely insistent upon securing the service. I imagine that the number of people not at a wired connection who spend the majority of their lives on the move is greater by far than the number that hang out at Starbucks.

Mothers with children. Its a huge market. Only 1X will do.
