It all depends on which pollutant you are talking about. Obviously if you measure by particulate counts, the air pollution in Asian cities is much worse. If you measure by greenhouse gases, US may be worse than China and India combined.

In terms of the health effects of pollution on the ordinary person, things are much worse in the Asian cities.
