Thank you for the analysis. We know WIND bought, or is contemplating buying, land to build a headquarters building - one possible use for the money.
>The real question is what inane comments will come from Mark B.
JB, help me with this please. I may have been too honest with my feelings when I referred to Mark as being young and inexperienced, and thereby insulted him, which may deserve an apology. To verify my assessment of Mark, yesterday I reviewed a few of this other postings - which I found to be mostly professional and probably sound. However, I also found the following statement made by Mark on the PTEC thread July 17th of this year:
"I spoke to my usual reliable source, Deep Phoenix, recently and he expressed remorse that he couldn't buy shares at 12 1/2 during the quiet period. I'm under no similar restrictions, so I added to an already heavy position at that price."
Mark may be committing a crime by trading on insider information. This view of the illegality of anyone trading on inside information has always been the opinion of the SEC, and it was supported by the Supreme Court in a recent decision. If he is inexperienced, I can understand why he may have been confused about the legality of insider trading, thinking he is not an insider.
My problem with Mark is not the fine print of the legality of his actions. My concern is that he doesn't recognize the immorality of his actions. We all want to be successful investors, but not by cheating others. For this reason, I don't want to have anything more to do with the man, and I hope he leaves this thread, and WIND, alone.
As a financial person, how do you interpret what Mark posted? Am I over-reacting? I would be interested if anyone can defend Mark's trading action, enabling me to publicly apologize for inappropriately questioning his morals, and earlier for referring to him as a novice.
