Of course. What's the difference between the Saddam that attacked Iran, the one that attacked Kuwait and today's Saddam. Why was he worthy of our assistance during his war with Iran, at which time he was using the same WMD against Iranians we now condemn him for having and claim he will use against us?

Let's cut through the crap. Why shouldn't WE, the most powerful nation on earth, and the most responsible in the use of our WMD, take control of the situation? We are at a point in time where we can either take control of Saddam's WMD or allow him to develop them to a point where we could conceivably be threatened. WHY WOULD WE DO THAT?

I can make a good argument about how Saddam's position with respect to the USA is different today than it was 20 years ago, but when you boil it down, it really isn't a material element of the discussion.

WHY WOULD WE NOT TAKE THIS MOMENT IN HISTORY TO INSURE THAT SADDAM'S AGRESSIVE ABILITY IS ELIMINATED? He has shown himself to be beligerent and untrustworthy. Why should we take this crap? The Iraqi people are suffering under Saddam and will clearly welcome our involvement. The entire Middle East is destablized by the very existence of this nitwit dictator. He should be assassinated at once, and I'm confident our government will do it if we can figure out how.
