Syrian Defense Minister receives UN official
Syrian Deputy Commander In-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, First Lt.-Gen. Mustafa Tlas received in Damascus Wednesday the United Nations Truce Supervision Observers (UNTSO) chief, General Carl Doud, and the political advisor of the committee.
During the meeting, talks focused on the regional and international situation including the situation in the occupied lands and the “Israeli terrorist practices against the Palestinians”, the Syrian Arab news agency reported.
In addition, the talks dealt with the role of the UNDOF in the Golan, in line with the United Nations resolutions. Later on, the Chief General Staff of the Army and Armed Forces, Hasan Tourkmani received General Doud.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on issues of joint concern. Moreover, the talks also dealt with the Arab and regional situation, and the aggravated situation in occupied Palestine, due to Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s inhuman policy, SANA concluded. (Albawaba.com)
