Responsible logging is the shade of grey I'm settling on. Luckily the U.S. has the luxury to be responsible with its logging, unlike South America or Africa where most of the deforestation is taking place anyway.

Tenchusatsu, the problem is conceptual.......one world. We are not on Mars, and Africa and S. America on Venus. Its recognized that serious damage is being done to the most critical forests, the equatorial rain forests. Why do you think money is being raised to buy the forests so they won't be cut? And what's happening there, makes it even more critical how the supposedly more advanced nations handle their own forest management.

Its a hard concept to push forward with an administration that thinks logging is good environmental policy. Two more years and counting...............
