ot/Bobby. My 2 cents on Baseball. FWIW, have really come to doubt baseball will ever be the great sport it once was. The kids who might be the fans of the future started looking elsewhere a long time ago. And see no indication they're coming back. Whose going to be tuning into all the televised baseball games when our generation is dead and buried? And without the ratings to pull in all those TV revenues, the multi-million $ player salaries will stop going up and then begin too decline. But it's not just dissatisfaction with baseballs perennial problems and it's deteriorating image with the public. There's also a positive positive alternative that's emerging on the American sports scene. One that didn't exist 40 years ago when I was a kid. During the past 10 years, as my two boys were growing up, was just amazed at the sea change taking place among atheletically talented kids. The huge explosion in interest in soccer is for real and it ain't going to go away. At first, I thought it was a flash in the pan. But no. Soccer continues to grow by leaps and bounds and is - by far - our fastest growing youth sport. US Soccer is also making its mark internationally. For the 1st time ever, our World Cup Team moved was ranked as one of the 10 best in the world. Baseball will always be around. But it will never be the overarching dominant sport and national pass time it was when we were kids. There's a new player in town. And he's kicking butt.<g> JMVVHO. Isopatch
