Our whole family plays tin whistle, my daughter plays flute, was playing closed hole, but is now starting open hole and picolo, (she wants to add saxophone but decided to do that after she masters open hole flute- I think that was a wise move on her part). She is first chair in her band, but whether she will take her music as far as you have, I don't know. I'll be happy if it sees her safely through high school.
My youngest plays clarinet, and also takes recorder and guitar lessons at school. My son, and middle child, plays only clarinet right now, because we want him to focus. He has been playing for over 2 years now. This was my 8 year olds first concert, she only started clarinet this year, on her birthday. She is our clarinet teachers youngest student. The concert was at a retirement home, and I heard some of the older ladies saying how cute my daughter was, and how small, she could barely be seen behind the music stand. After her performance she made two lovely little curtsies- which cracked up the audience. |
