Wow, what an emotional week. I have lots of cousins, but, even so: one cousin passed away, another has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and two others have been checked into hospitals for observation. Being selfish, I always think of how rough this is on me and how they might not be around to entertain me any more, but it is obviously much rougher on them and their immediate families.
I guess it is part of the flow of life, as babies in the family are also being born by the dozen, it seems. In fact, there is another baby boom in effect since 9/11, or at least it seems that way to me. I work in an office with 32 brokers and about 15 support staff, and we have about 8 newborns or really big bellies in that small group. (I'm not counting my big belly, which is in training for Sumo season. <G>) And the class I was with at Hartford for a week had new babies all over the place.
Maybe we're gearing up to give China a run for its money on the cheap labor front. |
