UF - How good to see your posts. Yes wireless in Europe in a mess, but mainly in Europe. PCSs problem hasn't got materially worse in fact with the 1X launch noe firmly under way its probelms if there were any have been eased.

Now we have VZ and PCS and some others not to be ignored with 1X in the greatest tech market in the World where the only competition is GPRS.

We will see a whole new range of exciting phones as the Koreans take the leadership from NOK. Many will be in the stores for Christmas and the Holidays.

Sooner or later it seems to me that VZ will convert to DO.

Meantime what of the competition. I'll bet GSM is not a good service. Asit takes on more and more customers especially using GPRS the networks will become congested at peak times. That by itself won't cause a mass walkout to cdma but it won't enhance the reputation of AWE and the others.

Will the GSM operators in the US convert to W-CDMA? and if so when? Sooner or later people in this ecompanies are going to start thinking seriously about the overall effect on their earnings of the advantage of worldwide roaming under the old GSM environment to world wide roaming under teh new Qualcomm world umberella. One of them in my view will break ranks sooner rather than later.

Till then I don't see things getting worse and the balance of probablility is that they get steadily better for the Q.

The only big change is the market itself. Instiutionsa nd funds are now daytraders and daily swings of 3% - 5% are common and they seem to me to be indiginous to a bear market ie without that level of volatility there is no bear market and with it thatis a good sign that there is abear market.

A rally to 1400 and change has just about all the pundits and posters calling for blood in September and October with predicted market bottoms up to 50% less than here. the sad thing is that after years of this who wants to argue with them.

What is the point of being interest in fundamentals until senses return and the constant and negative sniping at the US economy is ended.

Best,

L
