That's a big problem in developed countries too. Cigarette smoking is responsible for more cancer cases than all other pollutants combined.

Delhi has its own solution to the problem. Has mandated the use of Compressed Natural gas for commercial vehicles. This has reduced the pollution in Delhi to some extent.
