I was reading about Somalia. Following the time line of events in 1993 it is clear the UN mandate imposed to disarm the population was ill-conceived and directly led to the attack and the deaths of the 24 Pakistani soldiers as well as the 17 we lost in Mogadishu in a reprisal and kidnap attempt of Aideed.

My condolences to the families of the lost Pakistani soldiers as well as the families of our fallen soldiers. You once told me how we have died side by side together, ...I am learning that to be true the more I read.
