Amkor is a special case in the semiconductor business, though. Whereas the AMAT and NVLS (for example) have cash and little or no debt, Amkor has loads of debt and virtually no cash (and negative earnings). When the business is humming along, everyone is fine, but when it turns down, Amkor doesn't have the cash flow to cover its debt. They are leveraged to the hilt, essentially.

That's why, I would guess, it fell so hard Friday (percentage wise). If AMKR can't unload its Anam stake at a reasonable price, there are few other options to keep them afloat.
