When the EU commission wants something they get the Finns ( and all the other countries like Greece ,Ireland etc who have been living off the EU and get paid very time they vote) to put their hands up and voila. Nokia tells the Finnish Govt what to vote etc.

limtex, you are exaggerating Finnish Governement´s influence. It is true that Nokia is important for Finland, but do you really believe that Finland with a population of 5 million people could really influence EU that much? Aren´t Germany with 80 million people or France with 60 million in a class of their own, why aren´t Siemens and Alcatel in Nokia´s place right now? Or is it so that manufacturing rubber boots for the Soviet Army has taught Nokia something about mobile markets that Siemens and Alcatel (or Ericsson...) never learned?

I do agree with you about Koreans, Samsung and LG are going to be tough competitiors for Nokia, but I`m not sure if they are going to wipe Nokia out.
