I wouldn't expect a change coming from mainstream. it all comes from the fringes. Blondon punches above its weight. Leverages its English accent plus the guys in yellow ties, which -ammazing!- confers in some corners a certain level of credibility. Funny that no one looks to to the sorry state of BT.

Now the fringes have spoken!

1) WLAN's increasing respectability. A serious threat that paves the way to MSFT dominating data over wireless.

2) Thailand countrywide CDMA2000 built out for BFKT-Hutchison. A serious threat with Li Ka Shing's son Canning Fok's money behind it.

Euroland has been awake and have to work its abracadabra. It is not the end. It is not the beginning of the end. But it is the end of the beginning.

Lets keep the eyes on the fringes, there is where the gate-crashes are raising to come after the lunch of the establishment.

Keep an eye o MOT. Someone might have gone to those guys and said: "Show me by how much and how long it will take for you can build a network." Countrywide and fullblown. Mot took up the challenge and they are building it.

10 million people visit Thailand every year. At the airport, they will be recived by smiling Thais offering a terminal for rent for the duration of his trip and the person in question can send, from the spot, the beauties of Thailand for the folks at home watch in real time.

Seeing is believing. A picture is worth a thousand words. That kind of stuff.

Elmat is happy to have seen the WLAN threat with his Machiavellian plan and now is helping build the network right here in BKK.
