"Little Secrets" gets 4 stars for best overall PG movie this year. -for mature PG movie goers. (more for the over 7 crowd, not an animated film) Saw it last night with family.

Kids remarked "not one swear word" in entire movie. Comments included there was no music in entire movie, with another noting entire movie soundtrack comprised of classical music.

"In this coming of age tale, gifted violinist Emily (Evan Rachel Wood) is spending her summer getting ready for symphony try-outs. She’s also serving as the neighborhood’s resident secret keeper, and Emily earns the trust and respect of her peers for not divulging even the biggest of secrets"

Have "Disney type" films of the 50's been reincarnated? Could this be a new trend? Time will tell. (I have been most unimpressed with contemporary Disney films, Walt must be rolling over in his grave if he saw where Disney films has gone)

Blue Crush wins current best PG-13 nomination. Not bubblegum theme but surprisingly better than expected. Very big hit with the 10-15 crowd. I could have sworn I saw about 15 to 20 Britney Spears look a likes in the movie audience on the big opening weekend. There were more belly buttons seen in the mostly high school female audience than I have seen since going to the beach. A few of the accompanying male high school audience reacted in what could best be described as a testosterone storm movie reaction during the film, complete with vocal accolades dispersed throughout the movie.

Many of the 8-10 year olds (definite minority of audience) were converted to aspiring surf board wannabees despite the fact that we live in the midwest.
