The brilliant insights that come out of the analyst community . . .

Oracle (ORCL: news, chart, profile) shed more than 4 percent in midday action. Analyst Charles Di Bona at Sanford Bernstein shaved a penny off his earnings estimate for Oracle's first-quarter results to 8 cents a share due to expectations of lower revenue expectations, primarily in its applications and application servers business. Di Bona added that the stock's relative out-performance appears to be driven by a recovery from the over-selling seen earlier in the year and the feeling that the company, despite its problems, "is at least not going to disappear, and not by fundamentals."
