Culture is like a blanket which surrounds and protects a society. It's made up of underlying assumptions, beliefs, principles and values the people hold dear. Whoa, let's stop right there. Sounds like a textbook. How about some references? I can get away with advancing those kinds of things without a reference because I teach this stuff. (Well, not that textbook stuff, but I'm in the field). If you're in the field, give us some evidence of your credentials. If not, give me some evidence of the source of that quote. Whoops, now I've read the full post. Let's just stop. There is no way we can get into a conversation with that. I appreciate the fact you've spent some time on the post and care about the thoughts in it. You might wish to send it to the NEA. Couldn't hurt. Sorry, but I'm simply not imaginative enough to find a way into a conversation with you.
