There are plenty of abuses in the legal profession, the medical profession and proably just about any other you can mention. Regulating lawyers is necessary because the individual rights of those represented can be irrevocably adjudicated. Its important to maintain a minimum levle of competency and to be able to weed out those who can not perform. Its important that people have faith in the justice system, how it works and those employed in that system....
