Here it is: HFS ends talks for Montgomery Ward unit PARSIPPANY, N.J., July 18 (Reuter) - HFS Inc said on Friday that it has terminated talks to acquire Signature Financial/Marketing Inc from bankrupt retailer Montgomery Ward & Co Inc. Since Montgomery Ward filed Chapter 11 on July 7, HFS said in a statement, the parties have not been able to strike a deal that meets HFS's acquisition criteria. HFS said its strategic objectives in direct marketing will be met through its pending merger with CUC International Inc (CU).
