Newsmax reproduces part of Novak's column. But they leave out this part:

"nobody--including Bush administration officials--alleges specific wrongdoing. Nor is there any evidence."

Is that your idea of honesty? Of no spin? I thought only evil traitorous demolibs engaged in baseless smear jobs. Have i been somehow misled by the good people here on the President George W. Bush thread?

Novak did point out that there was a political motivation but no evidence. And in fact all the evidence was that nothing wrong had occurred. Read Novak's article.

Bush has a political motive to have those gdp numbers revised down. Now he can say (and he has been) that the nation was in a recession when he took office and then he can take credit for the coming recovery.

Does this motive mean the downward revisions are political propaganda designed to prop-up a President in danger of being dragged down with the economy?

Not without evidence it doesn't.
