Despite the news from Intel...

There's two pieces of very encouraging data:

1. Today's durable goods number was much stronger than expected suggesting the recovery may actually be starting.

2. The weekend revelation that there's been huge mutual fund redemptions (i.e. the individual investor is cashing out) is a powerful contrary indicator.

And the fact that the semiconductor group as a whole has one of the most pessimistic auras of all MAY be a compelling reason to begin some serious nibbling.
