Xybernaut and Gravitas Deploy Wearable Computing Solutions At Fairs and Amusement Parks

Xybernaut(R) Corporation XYBR and Gravitas Digital Communications Inc. today announced that theme parks and fairgrounds are using Xybernaut Mobile Assistant(R) V (MA(R) V) wearable computers integrated with Gravitas digital photography applications for entertainment and event photography services.
Gravitas recently purchased 10 MA V units and is working to integrate and deploy these units at amusement parks and fairgrounds including several Six Flags, Inc. regional theme parks. Units are also being utilized during recurring or one-time events, such as the Maryland State Fair.
The MA V wearable computers are configured with professional-grade digital cameras, all-light-readable flat panel displays (FPDs), microphones, hand-held bar code scanners and electronic commerce/transaction capabilities.
As visitors enter the theme parks, their photographs are taken and they are given bar coded tickets referencing their collection of photos. Photos are taken throughout the parks by roving photographers using digital cameras connected to Xybernaut MA V wearable computers. The MA computer systems capture visitors' images as they interact with their favorite park characters or as they enjoy rides.
The images are then transmitted via wireless network to the theme park's centrally located photo database. Visitors can view their photos by walking up to and presenting their bar coded ticket to any Xybernaut-enabled photographer.
The comprehensive solution, developed and integrated by Gravitas, offers wireless, web-enabled communication to connect theme park personnel and visitors alike with a virtual scrapbook of photos and messages assembled during their visit.
While at the park, visitors can have their digital images printed on a variety of novelty items. Visitors also have the option of e-mailing their "digital memories" while still at the park or days later after they have returned home.
Once in the comfort of their home, the customer can also purchase photo-products, such as framed versions of their photos, T-shirts, mugs, mouse pads, and any number of a wide range of keepsakes through the Gravitas online electronic commerce engine.
