>> My view is that the same goes for Sadaam and Bin Laden.

Problem is that both of these men and their gangs were nurtured and protected by the same US and policy makers who have turned against them now. They think they are exercising good judgement now. But they also thought they were exercising good judgement when the US financed and armed Bin-Laden against Russia.

Would the 3000 people who died in New York still be living if the US had stayed on the side-lines and let Russia defeat the Islamic extremists and war-lords in Afghanistan ? Would Afghanistan also be better off ?

Are the current attacks being prepared with more thought or likelihood of success ?
